We have had a handful of our customers hosted with godaddy to have their username and password files magically disappear from the server. The best we can track down is that they are named as hidden files, so maybe the server deactivates them and/or removes them. Anyway this causes a problem for our customers when they try to login to the PDG admin panel, but it takes them to the create admin account screen instead. This immediately means that those 2 files have been removed from the server. Unless you know the secret passphrase to re-create the account and link everything back up. It can be a tedious process reconfiguring all the encrypted settings within the PDG admin panel.

So there is a way to retrieve a backup of your server and files from within the GoDaddy control panel. Then you can restore the old files and use the same login info to get into PDG. Here are those steps:

Login to the godaddy site and navigate to the hosting control panel

	—> Click on the FTP File Manager button at the top left hand corner of the control panel.

 —> Click the tab labeled History on the top left hand corner of the screen

 —> Now you can click on the small calendar image above the listing of files to choose a date to restore from.

Once you have navigated here go to the /cgi/PDG_Commerce/ directory and look for the ustats and ustats shoadow files. Check the boxes next to each one and restore them. Now try to use the same login info you were before you got the create admin account page and it should be good to go.

Hope this helps some folks out.

We have had several reports from users that recent ‘system upgrades’ performed by Network Solutions have resulted in PDG Commerce no longer being able to access the MySQL databases and returning internal server errors. We have attempted to assist several users in diagnosing and trouble-shooting the problem, however we have been unable to determine what changes were made and why they are impacting PDG Commerce.

At this time, our recommendation for users encountering such problems would be to consider one of the recommended hosting providers listed at http://www.pdgsoft.com/hosts.htm .

It has come to our attention that some of our customers are having issues with their UPS connections. UPS changed the URL for PDG to call out to for online tools. it used to be ups.com, but now they changed it to onlinetools.ups.com. We have been able to get these connections resolved by doing the following:

Locate the shopper.conf file on your hosting server.
It will be located in the PDG_Commerce directory.
Download the file and open it with a text editor.
Add this to the very bottom on a new line:

UPS_SERVER_ADDR=onlinetools.ups.com

Save the file and re-upload it to the server.

Should be good to go there. If you still have issues please contact PDG tech support.

It has come to our attention that anyone hosted at godaddy and using the PDG software are experiencing problems with payment gateways and real time shipping carriers. The issue is that godaddy used to require that we have 2 special configuration variables inserted into the shopper.conf file located on your server in order to work. Now it appears that they have made some changes that no longer require these configuration variables. So you will need to remove these variables from the shopper.conf file in order for things to begin working again. The 2 variables that need to be removed look like this:

ssl_proxy_host=proxy.shr.secureserver.net
ssl_proxy_port=3128

Once those variables have been removed from the shopper.conf file. Everything should begin to work again. In some cases clients have had to reenter the UPS shipping info. Payment gateways should be all set. We apologize for any inconvenience.
